Meet The Interim Pastor!
Reverend Lynn Ashcraft was born and raised in Waco, Texas where he graduated from Baylor University in 1963. He then obtained his graduate degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1966.
While obtaining his education, he served as pastor at Watt Baptist Church near Waco, Texas from 1959 to 1960 and then at Searsville Baptist Church in Valley Mills, Texas from 1960 to 1961. From 1962 to 1967, he served as pastor at First Baptist Church, Lott, Texas, before moving to Troup, Texas as the pastor of First Baptist Church, where he led from 1967 to 1973.
In 1973, he began his work as pastor of North Orange Baptist Church in Orange, Texas where he served 32 years from 1973 to 2005 until he retired.
Since Reverend Ashcraft’s retirement in 2005, he has served as Interim Pastor at 13 churches throughout Southeast Texas before accepting the Interim Pastor position at Trinity Baptist Church in August of 2021.
Brother Ashcraft has been married to his wife Jeannie, also of Waco, Texas, for 61 years. They have one daughter, Lynae Sanford, who is married to Jerry Sanford. Lynae and Jerry live in Orange and are also members of Trinity Baptist Church.
Brother Lynn and Jeannie have two grandchildren, Dyllon Sanford, married to wife, Bekah Sanford of Henderson, Texas, who are expecting their first child in November of 2021; and Becca Sanford of Kansas City, Missouri.
